    Chief Operations Officer

    Or HaLev: Center for Jewish Spirituality and Meditation is seeking a resourceful, dynamic, meticulous, and passionate Chief Operations Officer (COO) who will oversee all aspects of Or HaLev’s global operations and help lead us in our next stage of growth.

    Or HaLev is a small yet impactful organization that runs Jewish meditation and spirituality retreats, as well as other educational opportunities on three continents, and is a world leader in Jewish spirituality and spiritual practice.     The Chief Operations Officer (COO)

    Or HaLev is poised to enter our next stage of growth from a small start-up to a larger and more impactful organization. We are seeking a passionate COO who can help lead this evolution, has a growth mindset, and is committed to our vision of a transformative Judaism. 

    The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will report to Or HaLev CEO, Rav Dr. James Jacobson-Maisels.

    The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will:
    • Direct all aspects of Or HaLev’s global operations, including retreat creation, management and promotion, management of online learning, media and marketing platforms, distribution of wisdom and the cultivation of an Or HaLev community of practitioners. 
    • Direct the financial management of the organization in the US and Israel. 
    • Supervise and hire Or HaLev employees. 
    • Collaborate with Or HaLev’s founder and CEO, Rav James Jacobson-Maisels, and the board, to create a new strategic and business plan for Or HaLev, develop new areas of growth, and plan Or HaLev’s yearly offerings. 
    • Direct creation and management of a new Or HaLev brand and marketing strategy and plan, including digital content, to increase Or HaLev’s visibility and effectively recruit for our programs, in collaboration with Or HaLev’s CEO.
    • Direct fundraising plan, strategy and implementation in collaboration with Or HaLev’s CEO.
    • Assist board cultivation, management and relationships.

    We are seeking a COO who is:
    • Experienced in operations and administration.
    • A strong systems-builder and creative problem-solver who implements systems and strategies that support the team, the work, and our mission.
    • A candid and intentional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives in a position with a high level of autonomy.
    • Knowledgeable of or can learn data management systems (CRM) and online booking systems.
    • Familiar with or can learn Israeli and/or US accounting standards of practice.

    The ideal COO will also be:
    • Proficient in Hebrew and English.
    • Knowledgeable and experienced in fundraising.
    • Knowledgeable and experienced in marketing. 
    • Committed to Jewish spiritual practice.

    The COO position is:
    • Work-from-home friendly, as the COO can be based remotely, from any location within Israel with reliable internet. Approximately 3x/month, the COO would travel to our office in Kibbutz Hannaton, 30 minutes from Haifa.
    • Flexible: This full-time position offers flexible hours, provided the organization is growing healthily and benchmarks are being met. 
    • Some evening hours are required to connect with our U.S.-based staff and board.

    Salary: Commensurate with experience, ₪12,000-16,000/month bruto.
